Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard Kobe Bryant suffered a nasal fracture during the 2012 NBA All-Star Game Sunday in Orlando, Florida (Monday in Manila), the team announced.

In the third quarter of the All-Star Game, Miami Heat’s Dwyane Wade committed a hard foul on Bryant, hitting the Laker on the nose.

Play was stopped for a few moments while Bryant had his nose checked. He would finish the game and ended up scoring 27 points.

But Kevin Ding of the Orange County Register reported after the game that Bryant was experiencing a severe headache after the game. Bryant did not attend the post-game press conference.

The team said that Bryant will be examined and re-evaluated by Dr. John Rehm, an ear, nose and throat specialist, when he returns to Los Angeles.

Wade said he did not intend to "draw blood" on Bryant during the game.

"I took a foul. Kobe had fouled me two times in a row, so he's still got one up on me," Wade said in the post-game press conference.

Bryant and the Lakers will play Wade and the Miami Heat on March 4 at the Staples Center.
