Froilan Baguion and Darlon Johnson starred late in regulation and in overtime as the San Miguel Beermen repeated over the Indonesia Warriors, 81-77, Wednesday night and bounced back in contention in the Asean Basketball League at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

The two hit two free throws each in the extra period to secure the win after Johnson followed up a miss by Baguion as time ran out in regulation to forge overtime, 75-75.

Earlier, Baguio hit a triple to push the Beermen within 73-74 with only 21.7 seconds remaining. But Rony Gunawan split his pressure-packed free throws with 19.5 seconds left to pave the way for Johnson’s game-tying putback.

The Beermen, who crushed the Warriors, 77-61, two weeks ago improved to 6-3 as they bounced from a home loss to Westsports Malaysia (73-70) last Sunday.

“It was a tough win but we’ll take it,” said SMB coach Bobby Parks.

Indonesia, with wily guard Mario Wuysang hitting his mark, appeared headed for an upset by leading, 63-51, after three quarters.

The loss dropped the Indonesia Warriors into a tie for fourth with idle Singapore at 4-5.

Thomas led the Beermen with 27 points, Avenido added 17 and Baguion had 17.
