Kaya gained a share of top spot with a 2-0 blanking of Army last night in the United Football League at the University of Makati field.
Goals from Eric Dagroh and Masanari Omura sealed the win for Kaya, which is now level on points with Loyola Meralco at 15 but behind the Sparks on goal difference.
Dagroh struck in the 31st minute, bundling home on a follow up, before Omura slotted home after a goalkeeping blunder by Ed Sacapano.
Omura could have added to his tally twice, but Sacapano was up to the task on a couple of one-on-one situations in the second half.
Aside from rattling the crossbar with a thunderous shot in the second half, Anton del Rosario had another solid display on defense along with Jason Sabio.
It was the second straight shutout win for Kaya, which has just given up four goals from six matches.
Army failed to move up from fifth after losing for the third time this season.
