Mexican boxing star Jorge Arce is aiming for a slot at the undercard of the June 9 fight between Filipino ring icon Manny Pacquiao and American boxer Timothy Bradley Jr. at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Arce successfully defended his World Boxing Organization bantamweight championagainst Lorenzo Parra on Saturday in Mexico and wants to fight again in June.
“I’ve stolen the show a couple of times on Pacquiao’s events,” he told Boxing Scene. “I did it the first time when I knocked out Hussein Hussein (in the undercard of Pacquiao’s first fight against Erik Morales.)”
In Pacquiao’s fight against Shane Mosley last May 2011, Arce was also part of the best fight of the night when he rallied to knockout Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. in the main undercard bout.
Arce has no opponent yet for the June 9 bout, but if he is successful, he may end up fighting another Filipino boxer, Nonito Donaire, on September.
