LAS VEGAS, NEVADA – Weeks after the success of the “battle of the heavyweight champions” at UFC 116, Brock Lesnar’s impressive comeback is a testament that ring-rust is not quite a common trend in The Octagon.

Lesnar successfully defended the UFC heavyweight championship belt against Shane Carwin.

Now, UFC fans from all over the world are looking forward to “UFC Live” that is happening on August 1 at the San Diego Sports Arena. This fight is one of the most anticipated events of the UFC.

Jon “Bones” Jones will be slugging it out with one of the most experienced opponents, Vladimir “The Janitor” Matyushenko.

Jones dominated the first-ever “UFC Live” in the light heavyweight division when he slugged it out with Filipino-American Brandon "The Truth" Vera last March 21. (Read: UFC: Brandon Vera vows to bounce back from losses)

Meanwhile on the main card, Fil-Am fighter Mark Muñoz of Vallejo, California will go up against Yushin Okami of Japan.

Pinoy UFC fans are expected to flock to the San Diego Sports Arena to support Muñoz on August 1.

UFC President Dana White said that Okami is considered as one of the best 185-pounders in the world – a challenge for “The Filipino Wrecking Machine” Muñoz.

If Muñoz wins, this fight it puts him right on the top of the heap in the 185 division. This is a big fight for Mark Muñoz. He’ll be in line for a title shot so this is a big fight for Mark Muñoz,” said White.

“If he wins, this fight it puts him on the mix meaning he [will] probably be one away for getting a title shot,” he added.

Muñoz is currently training at Lake Forest, California. He holds a record of 8 wins and 1 loss.
