2nd Game Update: Petron def. B-MEG, 84-77

Winless in all its first 14 games in the previous conference, Air21 made a good impression right in its very first game in the Commissioner’s Cup.
And the Express won in convincing fashion, leading from start to finish and coasting to a 97-88 triumph over Barako Bull on Sunday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City.
Almost everybody is saying the PBA Philippine Cup format is like a sprint. B-Meg coach Tim Cone was actually the first one who said it and his team is going just that so far.

And with his team having got off the starting block well, Cone says the next important step is to pick up the pace and sustain the momentum.

UPDATE: Air21 def. Barako, 97-88

Can Marcus Douthit deliver what Air21 failed to acquire last conference? Head coach Franz Pumaren hopes so.

Douthit today begins the task of trying to steer the Express to a first-ever season victory, wishing that his familiarity with how things are done in the PBA would wind up as a huge factor as Air21 makes its debut in the Commissioner’s Cup against Barako Bull Sunday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City.
